Privacy Policy for Focus OS

Focus OS ("we," "our," or "us") built the Focus OS application as a Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided at no cost for the basic tier and is intended for use as-is.

By using Focus OS, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

1. Information Collection and Use

For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information. The information we request is retained by us and processed as described in this policy.

We collect the following categories of data:

• Account & Profile Data: When you sign in via Google through Firebase Authentication, we receive your email address, display name, and profile photo URL. This data is used solely for account management and personalization.
• Subscription & Billing Data: When you purchase a Premium subscription, RevenueCat processes anonymous transaction tokens on our behalf. We do not store or access your actual payment card details — those are handled exclusively by the app store (Google Play).
• Usage & Diagnostic Data: We collect anonymous usage statistics (screen time, task counts, feature interactions) to improve the product. No personally identifying information is tied to this telemetry.
• Device & Log Data: In the case of an error, we may automatically collect device IP address, device name, operating system version, app configuration state, and timestamps via third-party crash-reporting services.
• Accessibility Services API: Focus OS utilizes Android's AccessibilityService API solely to support its core app-blocking functionality. The service monitors which application is currently in the foreground by detecting window state changes and recording the package name of the active app. This data is processed entirely on-device in real-time and is used exclusively to determine when a user-selected blocked app is opened during an active focus session, triggering the focus overlay to help the user stay productive. The AccessibilityService does NOT: read, collect, store, or transmit any screen content, text, keystrokes, personal data, or sensitive information; change or modify any system settings; interact with or manipulate any UI elements; record audio or capture screenshots; or share any data with third parties. The service only accesses the package name of the foreground app, which is stored temporarily in local device memory and never leaves the device.

2. Third-Party Services

Focus OS relies on trusted third-party providers to operate. Each processes data under its own privacy policy:

• Firebase Authentication (Google): Manages user sign-in, account creation, and identity verification. We store your Firebase UID, email, display name, and avatar URL. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Firebase Firestore: Stores user-generated content (tasks, community posts, settings). Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
• RevenueCat: Processes anonymous subscription tokens for entitlement verification. RevenueCat never receives your real name, email, or payment card. See RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
• Google Play Billing: Handles all payment transactions. Focus OS never sees your payment credentials.
• Gemini API (Google — Third-Party AI Integration): Powers the AI avatar conversations. When you voluntarily interact with the AI Avatar, your text inputs are transmitted to Google's Gemini servers to generate a response. By using this feature, you explicitly consent to the processing of your text inputs. We limit the use of this data exclusively to providing the conversational feature. Focus OS does not transmit your personal account identifiers, task history, or general app usage data to the AI unless you specifically type it into the chat interface yourself.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your personal data only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain accounts, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations.

Account Deletion: You have the right to request the full deletion of your account and associated data. You can initiate this process directly within the Focus OS app by navigating to Settings > Account > Delete Account. Alternatively, you may request deletion via the web by emailing focusoscomp@gmail.com from your registered email address. Upon receiving your request, your Firebase Auth account, Firestore documents, and all associated personal data will be completely deleted within 30 days.

Subscription tokens managed by RevenueCat are subject to RevenueCat's retention policies; however, we will revoke your entitlements on our side upon account deletion.

4. Children's Privacy

Focus OS is intended for users 18 years or older. If you are under the required age in your jurisdiction, you should use Focus OS only with parent or guardian permission where legally required. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we discover that a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately. 5. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) for all data in transit and encryption-at-rest via Firebase infrastructure. Access to production data is restricted to the app owner and is never shared with third parties for marketing purposes. No security measure is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. International Users

Your information may be processed and stored in any country where we or our service providers operate. By using Focus OS, you consent to the transfer of your data to countries outside your jurisdiction, including the United States. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place via Firebase's GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. Changes are effective immediately upon posting.
